once you use the signet is it gone forever (or until you buy it from a skill trainer)? or do you just have to re-equip it in a town if you want to capture another elite skill?

i believe it is used as a spell and you put it in your spell bar then when you use it the elite skill replaces that signet and if you want to use it again you buy it again as many tiems an necessary

You can use SoC to capture any skill, not just elite ones.

You get your initial (and a second) Signet of Capture from a quest out of Lion's Arch.

You can buy additional Signets of Capture at Quarrel Falls.

Nope... Unless we all missed something.

Go to Lions Arch and talk to an NPC upon a hill overlooking the fountain (between First Watch Sergio and the Fountain... forgot his name... not hard to spot). He will give you a quest to go get these enchanted clay shard things by killing a bunch of things that look very much like Hulking Stone Elementals. You'll need to go into North Kryta Province and follow the arrow. Eventually it leads out to the beach and then you climb up a short cliff to find where about 20 of em are. You only need to kill 10, I think... But slaughtering them all is fun. When you get back, you're reward is something around 500 exp and the Signet of Capture.

You can use the SoC to capture any skill (belonging to either your primary or secondary class) that is used by a boss monster. Getting the skill you want can be rather hard sometimes, though (tried to get Concussion Shot from Thirsty River and ended up with Penetrating Shot. Grr)

You can also buy additional SoCs at Lion's Arch from the same NPC that originally gave you the quest for the SoC (the NPC name is Magi ?????).
